Two people have been killed and 17 others injured, including a child, in a Ukrainian overnight drone raid on the southern Russian city of Voronezh, Governor Aleksandr Gusev has reported.
Most of the victims in the attack come from a single apartment block that was hit by a downed drone, the official said on Monday morning. Two of the injured people are in serious condition, he added.
Gusev said regional air defenses engaged 113 targets overnight, including 70 drones that were intercepted over the city.
A similar large-scale Ukrainian drone raid on Belgorod over the weekend two civilians and left 13 others wounded.
Kiev continues its long-range strikes on Russian cities amid renewed pressure from Washington to end its conflict with Moscow.
Last week, tech billionaire Elon Musk Vladimir Zelensky of abusing his Starlink satellite internet service to conduct strikes against civilians. The rebuke came after Zelensky complained about speed limitations imposed on Starlink terminals, which reportedly made them useless on fast-moving platforms.
Starlink reportedly operates only over the part of Russia that the US recognizes as Ukrainian territory. Zelensky has for years been lobbying Musk and the administration of US President Donald Trump to extend the coverage to other parts of the country, including after Washington renewed its efforts to find a resolution to the conflict.
